GLOSSARY
The Speaker
is the Chairperson, chief officer and highest authority of the National Assembly. The one who chairs debates between MPs (person who keeps order and calls MPs to speak during any sitting of the National Assembly). He must be an MP who has been elected to be Speaker by other Members of Parliament.
Parliament
is the highest legislative authority in the United Republic of Tanzania – the institution responsible for making and repealing Tanzania law. The Parliament is a place for reasoned discussion.
